IPP Progress Report for the week YYYY.MM.DD - YYYY.MM.DD

(Up to IPP Progress Reports)

Eugene Magnier

  • investigations in to more ipp / psps concerns (PSF theta - found a bug in the I/O layer treating degrees as radians, funny kron mags noted by Ken - these were known garbage based on dvo / psps flags)
  • some exploration of the PS and PS1SC web sites and content management systems. Make a mock-up of the PS public web site using Word Press that is not bad, but would need some cleanup.
  • work on the IPP data distribution pages, need to make these a bit more clear
  • readying phot ladder paper for submission.

Serge Chastel

  • Acting czar on Thu and Fri;
  • Spent (wasted?) more time than I wanted with Condor web services compilation/installation at mhpcc for the ippdor account;
  • mops data format 3 tests preparation;

Heather Flewelling

  • various liason requests
  • work on talk for next week (but that's now been moved)
  • ipptopsps work
  • some science stuff

Mark Huber

  • various liaison issues
  • MD05 prep for full reprocessing of all exposures that were not done with the ubercal catalog
  • observing at subaru

Bill Sweeney

  • Continued investigation into the differences between the psphotStack aperture flux measurements for the different convolved images. It appears that we have different flux level when we build the psf matched stack. For a given radial aperture, the difference is .02 - .04 magnitudes where the image convolved to 6 pixels is higher. The offset is a function of the stack_id. The cause is still under investigation
  • Debugged and worked around a strange problem in the data store product listing. The root cause was not found but turning off a feature of one of our external perl modules avoids the problem.
  • started working on changes to the Kron flux measurement functions to support measuring matched objects (forced photometry)

Chris Waters

  • Discussion with Larry about MOPS cuts. I've investigated this somewhat, and have some proposals I'll need to talk with him about. I think I've identified that the WW diffs are not as deep as they should be, due to some issue in the calculation of the difference variance.
  • Put together and gave PanSTARRS seminar talk on detrends.
  • Final version of ppStack with background stacking. Need to finish running tests.
