1311	masks for non-existent stars in g band MD06 stacks	kpat.jhu	eugene	"There are masked areas in the MD06 g band images that do not correspond to anything at other wavelengths. From the cross-hair shape of the masks it seems that IPP decided that a star was there. Since the source of the star masks is 2MASS, perhaps these correspond to sources that have some odd SED shape in the IR that IPP decided would only be bright in g. However, since the sources are not their at other wavelengths, maybe this is just some bug that hits only the g band. I have not seen similar non existent star masks popping up in the other bands.

example RGB=irg color images made from the stacks showing this effect can be found at http://ps1sc.ifa.hawaii.edu/PS1wiki/index.php/Stack_Anomalies#non-existent_stars_only_masked_in_the_g_band
