v69 v70 9 9 Given the clear distribution of detections near bright stars, I placed a cut to isolate the detections that are correlated with the bright star (log10(R) < (g*_synthcat - 10) / -7.0; g*_synthcat < 15). This cut catches 6864 of the false detections, suggesting ~1/3 of the remaining false positives are associated with false detections around bright stars. 10 10 11 Removing these "star associated" detections from the list, and plotting up 2D histograms of detections shows that the remaining sources do tend to have correlated positions. Taking cuts of 5 and 10 detections / arcmin^2 as the clustering threshold places 5426 and 3921 detections in clumps, respectively. Plotting these clustering points shows that ghosts and unmasked vertical camera structures (including unmasked burns) seem to be thecauses:11 Removing these "star associated" detections from the list, and plotting up 2D histograms of detections shows that the remaining sources do tend to have correlated positions.
