Questions/Comments for Positions of Objects (Section 5.7.1 SDRS)

Component: IPP SDRS Version: unspecified
Severity: normal Keywords:

Description

Equations/algorithms for all of the functions in this section are needed. The
ADD references the functions SLA_RDPLAN, SLA_EVP, and SLA_DCC2s, but it isn't
clear how to use them in conjunction with requirements in the SDRS to compute
the desired results. Please provide more detail for the coding of these
functions.

The current psTime functions for calculating MJD do so in terms of a double
precision float, and not in terms of the psTime struct occurring in the
argument lists of the functions in Section 5.7.1. Which is the preferred
representation? Also, what are the definitions of each of the arguments in
these functions?

There are no definitions in the SDRS for functions to determine the rise/set of
objects. How can these be determined? The SDRS also requires latitude and
longitude to enter the calculations, but is not present in any of the functions
for determining the rise/set of objects. Why?

Resolution: later
Status: newclosed

The functions for the astronomical objects are all of low priority, have not yet
been defined in detail, and are not immediately required.

I suggest we back-burner this.
