glueforge fails to install for me on alala

Description
it does not create the 'examples' directory and fails on the install. perhaps
this is a result of missing doxygen, in which case the installation should only
be done in the presence of doxygen.

The failing chmod has been silenced and I've intalled doxygen on alala for good
measure.
