Sample Galaxies

• GLGA stv has been update for WISE data. Now, users can switch back and forth between different WISE bands and choose different types of masks.
• Each band can also be masked separately.

These are my photometry of 25 galaxies using WISE data in w1, w2, w3, w4 bands. I compared my results with previous results. Most deviant points are due to the bad background masking, and probably not being able to see all the foreground sources in colourful images. I found out that when using W1 band for masking helps users to see more details in the image. For challenging galaxies, users better to open images in ds9 and play with contrast/bias values to see the details. Also having a look at SDSS/Pan-STARRS colourful images helps lot.

In the next version, I am going to add the possibility to bring up optical images more easily.

The upcoming features to STV:

• Opening optical images, when they are available in the data-base. There is already something available which is not enough.
• Expanding or Shrinking the background annulus, it's useful in case of WISE photometry, when most of the annulus is masked by foreground objects. Also WISE has low resolution, sometimes we need to have more background pixel to have a better statistics.
• The ability to display centroid on ds9 images. To see what has been already masked out and what has not.
• the ability to produce a single circular region in ds9 and import it to STV as a new masking centroid
• Probably adding more dialogue boxes to avoid users to visit his/her terminal frequently
